Stanislav Kores studied at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering at the University of Ljubljana, Department of Materials and Metallurgy, as a scholarship recipient from Talum d.d. After graduating in 2006, he started working as a young researcher at the same faculty, where he also pursued his PhD study. During his undergraduate studies, he gained international experience at TU Clausthal in Germany, at the Department of Foundry Technology, where he also completed part of his doctoral dissertation. In 2011, he earned a PhD in Metallurgy. Throughout his studies, he participated in industry development projects and published several technical articles.
After completing his PhD in May 2011, he joined Talum d.d. as a Senior Development Project Manager in the Strategic Development Department, focusing on the development of new aluminium alloys and casting technologies for the packaging, heating, and automotive industries. In April 2017, he was appointed Head of Strategic Development at Talum Group, responsible for R&D, investment projects, and innovation.
On April 1st, 2025, he was appointed as the Director of the Business Unit Castings
