Raw part operation

The extent and manner of raw part operation depend on the casting procedure, size of the series and specifics of the casting.

In low pressure die casting technology without cores we need to remove only the feeding core or separate feeders from the casting and deburr.
In tilt gravity casting technology, where castings have cores, it is necessary to remove ColdBox sand core from the casting before the feeders are removed and the casting deburred.
Feeders and burr on dividing planes are removed depending on the size of the series either in robotic cells with automatic buffing or on a hand saw with hand buffing.

ColdBox sand cores are removed in:

  • specialised machines; ColdBox cores are kockt out by a combination of core drilling, impact hammer hitting of feeders of the casting and vibrating of the casting table, where the casting is clamped.

Feeder cutting and deburring

Feeder cutting and deburring

The following devices are used for feeder cutting and deburring:

  • robotic cell Pakman (Kuka)
  • robotic cell KTM 1 (Kuka)
  • robotic cell KTM 2 (Yaskawa)
  • three axis CNC saw Hora
  • four axis CNC saw Koyama
  • automatic band saw machine Ferina
  • manual machining centre,
  • manual pneumatic equipment (milling cutters, files, grinders ...).
