Melt preparation and treatment
Melt is prepared from aluminium alloys in solid form as rolls or bars. For bigger quantities we transport prepared liquid aluminium alloy from the BU Talum Livarna (Cast House). Melt preparation is done on different devices.
MELT MAINTENANCE Electric resistor holding furnace (12 t, 1 piece) is used if daily consumption equals the furnace capacity. Melt is prepared in the BU Talum Livarna and transported (1km) to the resistor holding furnace.
REMELTING Gas fired furnace Marconi (2.0 t, 3 pieces) .... is suitable for large casting series. Gas fired furnace ZPF (2.5 t, 1 piece) .... is suitable for large casting series. Resistor furnace Hindenlang (1 t, 1 piece) ... is suitable for smaller quantities or casting series; it is also used for remelting of different types of alloys.
MELT TREATMENT Impeler FDU MTS 1500 (2 pieces):
the melt is cleaned with an "impeller vortex" and by degassing with argon,
modification with salts or master alloys strontium (AlSr10) and titanium-boron (AlTi5B1).
MELT HOLDING After treatment the melt holds in transport furnaces Striko, which are connected to heating docs in the melting area or casting machine. Maintenance and melting capacity in the smelting furnace: 10,500 t/year. In the casting foundry we most frequently use the following aluminium alloys: AlSi7Mg 0,3 (T6), AlSi10Mg 239 A, AlSi9Cu3 226 A, AlSi9Cu3 (Fe) 226D, AliSi12Cu1 231.
